Object to Gypsy & Traveller DPD proposing a

Gypsy & Traveller site at Homefield, Hall End

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

South Gloucestershire Gypsy and Traveller Development Plan Document (DPD). The extended consultation period for objections only lasts until 13th July 2009.

It identifies a list of potential sites. This includes ‘Homefield’ Hall End Lane Wickwar (approx 250 yards from junction of New Road and Limkiln Road )

As in the planning application PK08/2703/F, it suggests that the site is suitable for 5 pitches.

How Big is that ? - Each ‘pitch’ has been drawn with a residential caravan, touring caravan and a ‘day room’ - each pitch could accommodate 3 generations of extended families.- that’s a lot of people and vehicles (some commercial) Walking and Driving up and down New Road!!! Have a look at the picture on the right showing a single family site in Hampshire. Click on it to have a closer look. Then multiply that by 5 to give the 5 units this application wants.

On Monday 15th June, the council added 2 further properties to the DPD. Both are within 2 miles of Homefield. I would expect similar objections, but the objections must be raised on issues specific to each of the proposed sites.
